Employment Promotion
Based on the needs of the company, promotions may be immediate or permanent. Promotion, according to Clothier and Spriegel, is the transition of an individual to a position that costs more money or has a higher status. Promotion encourages self-improvement and increases enthusiasm for the work. Promotion encourages effort, enterprise, and ambition; reduces dissatisfaction and unrest; recruits competent individuals; necessitates logical preparation for advancement; and serves as an important reward for commitment, collaboration, and long service, among other things. A new job title, a larger number of tasks, and a salary raise are all common features of job promotions.
